Recently, Philips Lumileds' LUXEON Rebel LED UL approved to become the first high-performance DC lamp. Now, through the use of LUXEON Rebel LED, the new products are expected to solid state lighting applications faster and more easily selected Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification directory.

UL certified lighting products in the United States de facto mandatory, because the major agencies are required to pass this certification, including municipal authorities, government agencies, architects and insurance companies. This certification can make use of LUXEON Rebel without making a new DC lamp assembly through a comprehensive internal investigation can be UL Listed, thus speeding up the speed to market. As lamps must be UL Listed to be eligible to use ENERGY STAR label, which will also contribute through this certification ENERGY STAR certification.

In addition, to obtain UL certification can promote the use of a class of power, thereby helping to improve street lighting and other LED applications, the performance of LUXEON Rebel lens cover meet UL standards for electrical requirements, as before without UL through comprehensive research; past full requirements have hampered research on more efficient use of class 1 power supply.

Philips Lumileds' Application director Rudi Hechfellner said, "the majority of products sold in the U.S. state lighting manufacturers are asked to join the UL certification catalog, but until now, the certification process is very confusing. By using LUXEON Rebel, engineers can according to the UL clear guidance work, shorten UL review cycle, avoiding the luminaries certification process unexpected problems that may arise. "
